Todd Beamer: Lisa Jefferson
built 178 days ago
Considering that Todd Beamer's call is central to the official 9/11 narrative, it would be helpful if a recording of it were available to be properly analyzed. However, all that supposedly exists is a summary written by Jefferson. According to journalist and author Jere Longman: "GTE-Verizon did not routinely tape its telephone calls. As a supervisor, [Jefferson] would have been the one to monitor the taping, but she did not want to risk losing the call." [20] In her own book, Jefferson claimed she had "not had a chance to press the switch in my office that initiates the taping of a conversation." [21] Rowland Morgan has pointed out that this means the evidence of Beamer's call is "single-sourced, unsubstantiated hearsay of which there was no record.

Todd Beamer had spoken for 13 minutes to GTE supervisor Lisa Jefferson before Flight 93 crashed (see 9:45 a.m.-9:58 a.m. September 11, 2001). Yet the FBI has instructed Jefferson not to inform Beamer’s wife of the call, and only lifts this restriction on September 14. Lisa Beamer first learns of her husband’s call from Flight 93 on September 14, in a phone call from United Airlines (see September 14, 2001).

According to Lisa Beamer, Jeremy Glick, who would help Todd fight the terrorists, was supposed to fly to San Francisco from Newark in the evening of 9/10/01. Glick's plane was first supposed to land at Newark. However, the fire caused the plane to be rerouted to JFK Airport in New York City. Glick had the option of traveling from Newark Airport to JFK Airport (presumably by car, bus, or train) and boarding the plane to San Francisco at JFK Airport. However, Glick chose to go home to Hewitt, New Jersey, and to fly to San Francisco from Newark on 9/11/01.

Todd Beamer made a call and spoke to a GTE supervisor. In that call, Beamer told Lisa Jefferson, that he and others on the plane had decided they would not be a part of the hijackers' plans. Jefferson had informed him about the other hijackings. Beamer made her promise to call his wife and their two boys, and let them know he loved them. Beamer's call connected at 9:45 am. Here is his paraphrased account.

Lisa Beamer, Peggy's daughter-in-law, called to tell Peggy that her husband, Todd, was ticketed on the doomed United Airlines Flight 93. For several hours Peggy waited with family members and church leaders. When confirmation came that her son was indeed on Flight 93, Peggy, amazingly composed, called David in California with the tragic news.

On Sept. 11, 2001, Todd Beamer became a hero on Flight 93, which was downed by terrorists. A telephone operator later relayed to Lisa his sense of calm. His relationship with his God was what led to his sense of security in those final moments, said Beamer.
