The initial format for TNA Wrestling was a series of weekly pay per view shows at a low dollar price. It was a unique format that was at once both liberating and limiting. Being on PPV meant that the company could do almost anything it wanted, but it ... severely limited it's presence in front of viewers eyes. How do you sell a pay per view if you don't have any television time to market it on?

Upon its formation, TNA was a member of the National Wrestling Alliance, with the company known as NWA Total Nonstop Action. TNA was granted exclusive rights to both the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the NWA World Tag Team Championship. TNA withdrew from the NWA in 2004, but was permitted to continue to use the championships until the NWA abrogated the agreement in May 2007.[2]

Russo may not have the same level of power in TNA wrestling but he is still in a decision making position and this should be a huge worry for fans of TNA wrestling. His love of stupid gimmicks has already started to show with the awful Electrfied Cage and Last Rites matches aswell as the terrible return of the Blindfold match. The greatest signing in TNA history has ... started to tell friends he isn't happen with TNA's current direction. It is no surprise TNA has started to go downhill.

TNA Wrestling has officially signed female wrestler Jessica Kresa, better known as "ODB". She has worked with the company without a contract since Bound For Glory. ODB made her first TNA debut back in 2004 when she wrestled with the ring name "Poison". After that short stint, she was picked up by Ohio Valley Wrestling, WWE's developmental territory. There, she quickly rose to the top of their women's division and eventually became the OVW Women's champion. During an episode of TNA Today a few weeks ago, ODB revealed that her name stands for "One Dirty B****".

In May 2004, TNA Wrestling negotiated a television deal in the United States for a weekly one hour show, with TNA Wrestling iMPACT! the result. Hosted by Mike Tenay and analyst Don West, iMPACT! would soon move to its current home at Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida - the iMPACT! Zone.
