Tim Meadows - The Colbert Report Tim Meadows is a comedian, impressionist and performer who was born on February 5, 1961 in Highland Park, Michigan. The son of a janitor and a nurse’s assistant, he would later go on to pursue higher learning at Wayne State University. After graduating, he started out his career in show business with The Second City comedy troupe, together with the late Chris Farley. Meadows is ... an alumnus of the Chicago-based ImprovOlympic improvisation group, where he worked together with the likes of Farley, Jon Favreau, and Rachel Dratch. In 1991, Meadows became a featured player of the long-running comedy series Saturday Night Live, appearing regularly on the show all the way to 2000. Among the other television productions he has acted in are The Bill Engvall Show, Everybody Hates Chris, and The Office.

Tim Meadows Knows What's Coming From Upstairs Though he’s not nearly as prominent in the public eye as he was during his epic stint on Saturday Night Live, Tim Meadows has been the best part of some of the best comedies of the last few years. Remember his role as the principal in Mean Girls, wearing a cast because of carpal tunnel and afraid of Regina George? Or the bandmate in Walk Hard who kept warning Dewey Cox not to take drugs while simultaneously extolling their virtues? He’s a funny guy, and thankfully casting directors are recognizing it too.

Leon Phelps (Tim Meadows) has a big dick. Or at least, this seems to be the primary idea behind this latest unfunny comedy from SNL Studios and producer Lorne Michaels. Leon’s prominent member apparently drives women wild with desire and men — especially the wealthy white ones who have young trophy wives who look like they’ve just stepped out of Beverly Hills, 90210 — wild with jealousy. (Unless those men are driven wild with desire as well, a possibility nearly-exposed during one of the film’s many less-than-subtle moments.) Caught somewhere between these responses, Leon Phelps, the un-smoothest of love machines, kind of ambles along, quaint and sweet-natured and never more than remotely interesting.

For nine seasons, Tim Meadows made people laugh on SNL with characters like Leon Phelps (a.k.a. The Ladies Man) and Lionel Osborne. Meadows was born in Highland Park, Michigan in 1961. As a young man, he attended Wayne State University where he studied radio and television broadcasting. Upon graduating, he began his career as a comic by performing at a local club before moving to Chicago where he joined the ImprovOlympic and Second City. After three years in the windy city, he was hired by SNL, beginning a fruitful nine-year run.

Tim Meadows - The Colbert Report Man character from Saturday Night Live, Tim Meadows plays Leon Phelps, a late-night sex advice host of a radio show who gets fired for racking up one too many FCC fines. His producer (Karyn Parsons) gets fired with him, and she combs the Chicago stations looking for another gig while he tries to find the one old flame that would be willing to support him for the rest of his life. You see Phelps is a sexaholic who tends to sleep with frustrated wives, much to the chagrin of the husbands who inevitably catch them in bed together. A mob of husbands has formed a group, under the leadership of Will Ferrell (playing a tired stereotype of the closeted homosexual), dedicated to hunting down Phelps and killing him. Phelps personifies both the good (sexual skills) and the bad (the wardrobe and fashion sense) of the "Swingers" icon, though the movie ends with your standard pro-family propaganda when he inevitably finds love and stability with his producer. The laughs do not come fast and furiously, sidetracked as they are by the so-called plot, but one thing must be said and said out loud: Billy Dee Williams is fantastic as the bartender-narrator.
Tim Meadows most recently was seen on the big screen in The Ladies Man, a comedy based on his popular Saturday Night Live creation, Leon Phelps. His other film credits include Coneheads, It's Pat and Wayne's World 2. He will next be seen in the upcoming feature The Cookout.
