For the past two seasons, the Tigers rushing attack was one of the most productive in the state. Over the first five games of this season, it had been mediocre at best.

By Pat GalbinceaPlain Dealer ReporterIt was a Gray night Friday at Korsgaard Athletic Field in Warrensville Heights, but not one Tigers football fan complained. Three first-half touchdown receptions by junior Denario Gray propelled the host Tigers past neighborhood rival Bedford, 49-14, and enabled Warrensville to win the Erie Division of the Lake Erie League — their first ever LEL football title. Gray had eight first half receptions for 168 yards. He caught touchdown passes of 77, 4 and 32 yards from senior quarterback David Barry, who was ... phenomenal. For the game, Barry completed 16 of 25 passes for 265 yards and four touchdowns. Considering the on-and-off rain, Gray’s performance was exceptional.

Whenever the LSU Tigers take the field, everyone is in for some thrilling college football action. The energy level of a college football game is more intense, more fast-paced, than any other level of football, even professional. The reasons are many. With a stadium full of students, whose schools the teams on the field are fighting for, you’re going to have a lot of passion in the stands. A field full of players who may know that pro scouts are watching will be on their best game. There is a hustle on the field that comes from a love of the game, with little of the strutting and posturing antics seen in pro football.
