When Tiger Woods burst onto the golf scene, one of the things which made the biggest impact on fans was his long driving. However, he refused to upgrade his technology while other players caught up to him during the 2002-2003 seasons on the PGA Tour. During 2004, Woods finally upgraded his driver technology and, as of 2005, he is back in his place as one of the very longest hitters on the PGA Tour. Despite his length advantage, he has always focused on developing an excellent all-around game. His driving is generally accurate, his approach play accurate, his recovery and bunker play sometimes brilliant, and his putting is usually reliable. He is largely responsible for a shift to higher standards of athleticism amongst professional golfers, and is known for putting in more hours of practice than most.

Graphically, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 has done excellent work re-creating the various courses to exacting detail. These are beautifully rendered golf courses. The character modeling isn’t quite as good, but is within range of the quality of EA Sports games. While the announcing tandem of David Feherty and Gary McCord do an average job calling the course action, the environmental sound effects are really good. You’ll hear birds singing in the background and the sound of club meeting ball is done with an audibly realistic value

Tiger Woods walked out of the Buick Invitational championships this week in La Jolla with another title - and with a new golf bag designed by Buick with his personal touches. The blue-and-silver golf bag is plastered with Tiger's name and the Buick logo, and was made by Nike. With his original bag, Tiger won 31 PGA tour events and earned almost $45 million in winnings - including four Buicks, the prizes for the brand's namesake golf tournament.

Mario Golf, Hot Shots Golf, Outlaw Golf, and even the old Links 2004 provide an arcade-style gameplay, but none can match Tiger Woods PGA Tour as a true representation of the game of golf on a gaming console.
