Very few bands can be categorized into psychobilly band category and Tiger Army is one of them. Tiger Army band was formed in 1995 in San Francisco, California. Earlier there were five band members naming Joel Day and Geoff Kresge playing Stand-up bass, Adam Carson, London May and Fred Hell playing Drums. But in the course of time now there are only three members naming Nick 13, Jeff Roffredo and James Meza popularly know as Wasted James. All these three members joined the group when all other members have fallen apart. Tiger Army played their first show on 29th March 1996, at renowned venue 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California.

Rockabilly punk all the way, Tiger Army's act is something energetic and electric to behold. They've supported the likes of Social Distortion, AFI, Irish Wonders, the Dropkick Murphys and the Almighty Damned to hone their talents. Recently selling out tours in Europe and Japan to their doting and rapidly growing legion of international fans, the response has been fantastic and promises to continue on their US tour supporting their third album Tiger Army: Ghost Tigers Rise.

With Tiger Army, you've had this new lineup for three years now. And you've said before that any lineup is like a marriage and it either works or it doesn’t and you just have to put both feet into it in order to figure it out. After what happened with Fred and with Jeff, were you in a position where you had to reevaluate what you wanted to do with the band?

The California punk trio Tiger Army came together in early 1996, opening for AFI and earning respect from other players and fans including Rancid frontman and Hellcat Records co-founder Tim Armstrong. With his interest, the band released their first album in 1999. Over the years Tiger Army has been on the rise, eventually making it to the VANS Warped Tour lineup starting in 2004. The latest is 'III: Ghost Tigers Rise.' Street Dogs plays a variety of rock music and features original Dropkick Murphys vocalist Mike McColgan.

Following the US tour and video shoot, Tiger Army will make their long-awaited return to Australia for a headlining tour, including a stop in New Zealand, in March. Soon after, the band returns to Japan. The headlining tour there will be the first since the band’s first trip to Japan in 2001. Longtime friends and Japanese psychobilly legends Battle of Ninjamanz will support on all dates. The tour will be comprised of five dates: Fukuoka, Anjo, Osaka, Tokyo and Kawasaki.

Tiger Army played their first show in 1996 at the Bay Area's legendary punk collective, 924 Gilman Street, known as the venue where everyone from Green Day to Rancid got their start. The gig saw them opening for AFI, who lent Nick 13 their drummer, Adam Carson.
