Command & Conquer 2: Tiberian Sun is the sequel to Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn. Set in the early 21st century, Tiberian Sun once again pits the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) against the Brotherhood of Nod in a struggle for control of the planet. With an epic storyline that unfolds as play progresses, players learn the reasons behind the worldwide outbreak of Tiberium and what happened to the notorious Nod leader Kane, who was presumed dead at the end of the first Command & Conquer. Tiberian Sun features an all new game engine and improved controls that will allow players to command their forces with even greater ease. Westwood's MegaVoxel Technology is used to create a more exciting and dangerous battlefield with dynamic 3D terrain, realistic physics and a fully reactive environment. Explosions leave craters.

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is a real-time strategy game by Westwood Studios. Released for Microsoft Windows in 1999. A sequel to Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn, and predecessor to Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, the main storyline follows the second war between the Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod taking place In 2030, roughly 30 years after the end of Tiberian Dawn.

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is designed as a point-and-click command-style simulation. You may highlight one or box in multiple troops and give your men their death sentence. At the beginning of each mission, you are given a pre-programmed scenario in which you must gather resources, build troops and upgrade facilities as necessary in order for you to accomplish your goal. All battles are controlled by selecting a troop and pointing to what structure or opposing troop that you wish to destroy.

As a highly-anticipated sequel to Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun follows the continuing struggle for world domination between the Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod, and the struggle between humanity and the alien Tiberium substance. The game story is a follow up to the original, in which the Nod leader Kane, resurfaces from death with renewed vigor, funds, and manpower. The game's theme revolves around the matter of origin of Tiberium and its terraforming properties.

In the last mission for the Brotherhood of Nod in Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun (A New Beginning), there is a Christmas Tree Farm towards the lower left corner of the map. This building, unlike most civilian structires on this mission's map, can be destroyed without having to use the "Force Fire" command (Ctrl+left mouse click).
