Thriller: Movies
built 606 days ago
EW.com, from Entertainment Weekly It soon became apparent... that Thriller was something unique. Its first single, the goofy-sweet Paul McCartney duet ''The Girl Is Mine,'' was a safe choice, but the second single, ''Billie Jean,'' exploded everything around it. Its driving funk beat and atypically aggressive, fascinatingly obscure lyrics — which found Michael vehemently denying some woman was his lover — lent ''Billie Jean'' an urgency that only became more intense when Jackson used it on the March 1983 TV special Motown 25 to unveil his signature dance moves, including the moonwalk.

A magazine article about real-life car racing gangs for Vibe becomes this fast-paced automotive thriller from director Rob Cohen. Paul Walker stars as Brian O'Conner, a youthful FBI agent investigating a series of hijackings by going undercover with a street gang led by charismatic Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel). Caught up in Toretto's world of gang conflict that is resolved in late-night car races, Spindler starts to sympathize with his chief suspect and falls in love with Toretto's younger sister Mia (Jordana Brewster). "Urban Justice" is a fierce, action-packed thriller about a father determined to avenge his son's violent death. When his son is killed in an apparently random drive-by shooting, Simon Ballister (Seagal) is incensed to find that the police department has closed the case due to lack of evidence. He decides to launch his own investigation by moving into the worst part of town, where gang violence is rampant and he is immediately confronted by two rival gangs, led by Armand (Griffin) and El Chivo (Danny Trejo). Both are surprised to find that Ballister is no ordinary man -- he not only has Special Forces training, but he has no fear and no mercy. The perpetrators are forced to run for cover as Ballister's investigation deepens and he begins to uncover a conspiracy that goes far beyond a random drive-by.
Released in the year 1994 The Client Movie is a legal thriller. The movie was directed by Joel Schumacher and produced by Arnon Milchan and Steven Reuther. It had Susan Sarandon, Tommy Lee Jones, Brad Renfro and Will Patton in the lead roles. The movie was based on the novel of the same name by John Grisham.
That happened in 1979 with "The China Syndrome," a thriller about a near-meltdown at a nuclear power plant that opened less than two weeks before an almost identical situation occurred at the Three Mile Island facility in Pennsylvania. The incident helped turn "China" into a box-office smash -- it made over $50 million, back in the days when top ticket prices at most theaters were still under $4 -- even though the movie's producers did nothing to exploit the similarities between the film and the accident; the media thoughtfully did the work for them, pointing out again and again in news stories that Three Mile Island was "just like 'The China Syndrome.'"
