The thriller is ... a popular form among writers of independent films. In no other form can you get so much bang for so little money. Casts are small, effects are nil. But that also puts tremendous pressure on your ability to plot. Whether you write for the Hollywood mainstream or the independent, thrillers are tricky because you have to create a lot of plot in a small space with just a few characters.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Meagan Good, Carla Gugino, Jane Alexander, Idris Elba and Rhys Coiro will join Gary Oldman and Odette Yustman ("Cloverfield") in "Unborn," a supernatural thriller being produced by Platinum Dunes' Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. David Goyer will direct based on his own screenplay.

Hollywood, CA “Babysitter Wanted,” the new horror/thriller from Big Screen Entertainment Group (OTC:BSEG) has received its fourth consecutive positive review, this time from respected horror site www.dreadcentral.com. The film received four out of a possible five “knives.”
