The Thief or Rogue is a character class in many role-playing games, including Dungeons & Dragons, Final Fantasy, and many MMORPGs. Thieves are usually stealthy and dextrous characters able to disarm traps, pick locks, and perform backstabs from hiding. Thieves are usually capable of melee or ranged combat, and tend to be focused on dodging attacks rather than withstanding damage. Thieves usually have a stealth ability, allowing them to disappear from sight, often this is combined with attacking an unaware opponent to inflict high damage. Thieves are usually restricted to the lighter armors, leather and the like. While thieves typically cannot practice magic, they might use scrolls or magic items in some games.

The setting in Thief is a dark and devious one. Garrett's world is a little gloomy and dismal but still extremely interesting and detailed. Think of a medieval backdrop, combined with the beginning of the industrial age. Looking Glass has done a great job and created some beautiful scenes and absorbing landscapes. To accompany all of this, you'll quickly be enveloped by the strange and eerie ambient noise all around you.
Most Accordion Thief skills are learned from The Department of Shadowy Arts and Crafts. The skills from levels 1-4 cost 200, 800, 1800, and 3200 Meat respectively to learn, while all higher level skills cost 1,000 per level. All Accordion Thieves begin with the free skill Moxie of the Mariachi. Completing the Spookyraven Manor Quest grants you the Dirge of Dreadfulness skill.
Thief The underwhelming critical and box office performance of Thief, as well as his subsequent The Keep (1983), ultimately led Mann back to television for a good part of the 1980s. He would successfully use his role as creator and executive producer of Miami Vice, the TV series, to further embellish his studies of professional lawmen and criminals who obsess over their work to compensate for the emptiness in the rest of their lives and their disgust at the world around them. That bleak vision continues to be found in Mann’s later feature films, especially Heat (1995) and Miami Vice (2006), but the director ... understands the need for idealism and the catharsis of victory. The seeds of hope that are spoiled in Thief take on spectacular bloom in The Insider (1999) and Ali (2001). What Mann’s debut so demonstrably shows is that Mann, like Frank, is an artist, with a distinct difference – Mann’s obsession to be the complete filmmaker is rooted in a complex understanding that to be a man in the fullest sense, one cannot simply act in a vacuum.
Thief: The Dark Project The main tactic of Thief is to avoid fights and instead sneak around the enemies. Thief is sometimes described as either a "first-person sneaker", "sneak-em-up" or a "first-person looter" to emphasize this difference. Classification of the game has been slow coming, as three-dimensional stealth games, such as Splinter Cell (released in 2002) for example, only became more common years after the first Thief.
Thief It's a shame Thief isn't better remembered by people. If you really enjoy films about robberies, this one is right up your alley. Caan is terrific, and Mann's budding talent is evident.
