Theodicy: Sufferings

The last epicycle of theodicy is the famed cop-out, “God works in mysterious ways”. It is used when all other answers fail. It is an admission of the failure of theodicy, of the failure of the God-hypothesis to explain anything. It is a self-defeating defence.
