REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 4, 2006-- Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced its next generation of game titles for the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) taking place in Los Angeles May 10-12, 2006. EA’s line up of EA SPORTS™ and EA™ branded games for the Xbox 360™ video game system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) handheld entertainment system, Nintendo Wii™, Nintendo DS™, PC and mobile phones will be showcased in EA’s booth #1000 in the South Hall. With a renewed focus on original and wholly-owned intellectual property EA will unveil an array of titles and the technology that drives gameplay innovation.

Lumines II is the highly anticipated sequel to the extremely addictive puzzle-based video game, Lumines. Gamers control squares made of four smaller block pieces that are dropped into the playing field one at a time to form same-color squares. The vertical “timeline” sweeps across the playing field from left to right and wipes the same-color squares from the playing field. Unmatched blocks pile up, and the game ends when the pile gets to the top of the playing screen. Advance through many action-packed levels, each with its own musical theme and sound effects.

Leading independent in-game advertising provider Double Fusion has stepped up to bat with massively-multiplayer online sports game (MMOSG) publisher Netamin Communication Corporation, to be the exclusive provider of dynamic in- and around-game ads for Ultimate Baseball Online (UBO). The partnership further expands Double Fusion's extensive reach into the sports gamer community. Now marketers will be able to access the UBO audience through contextual advertising in the virtual stadiums, as well as through placements in game lobbies, tournaments and other sponsorships.

Mobile phone games were up next with the rather unexplainable Monotone, the mysterious gun toting bride game, Third Birthday (actually a Parasite Eve Game) and Final Fantasy XIII Agito. Mobile phone games are hugely popular in Japan and cell phone games had a huge presence at TGS, but more on that in a later post.
