Ultimately, X2 manages to fit in some cool action set pieces while ... paying attention to story requirements and the acting is also quite adequate. Almost as human as Spider-man and better than Daredevil, X2 ought to tide Marvel comic fans over until Hulk, er, hits the big screen.

In fact, on the whole the women are drawn better than the men; the favorite X-Men seem to be Rogue and Jubilee. Beast on the other hand is often drawn somewhat out of proportion and often seems to be used for a lowbrow comic effect in the manga.

On Sept. 23, the Westport Historical Society (WHS) will unveil an exhibit that pays tribute to cartoons, cartoonists and family ties. "A Cartoon Legacy" will feature the artwork from three of the nation's most-read comic strips Beetle Bailey, Hi and Lois and Hagar the Horrible.
