The Wedding Singer: Tim Herlihy
built 227 days ago
Overall, "The Wedding Singer" is a sentimental and sweet crowd-pleaser that captures the magic and warmth of falling in love. Though it may be predictable and retreads some familiar territory, there are enough hooks in the story to make it worth a look. A perfect date movie, and just in time for Valentine's Day.

The plot of "The Wedding Singer" is made up of a series of clichés piled up to the sky. There are good girls and bad girls and bad girls with a good heart. There are false starts, misunderstandings, and love lost and eventually found. The ending seems to come out of the blue (book writers Beguelin and Tim Herlihy were apparently not satisfied with the ending supplied by the movie).

WHY THIS The last time Vince Vaughn teamed with director David Dobkin, they unleashed Wedding Crashers. This time, the subject matter is less raunchy—Santa (Paul Giametti) dealing with his loser big brother joining the family business—but to listen to Vaughn, you'd never guess it was a kid-friendly comedy. "It deals with a lot of adult messages, like sibling rivalry, and how things from your childhood can mess you up," the actor says of the movie, which unwraps Nov. 9. "If you overheard us on the set, you'd think we were making The Godfather."
If you enjoy the film The Wedding Singer, you will enjoy this stage production, as it admirably sticks to the original. It can make no claims as a musical of any real depth or substance.... Indeed, aside from the melody to "It's Your Wedding Day," the tunes to the original songs are unmemorable. But the fun dancing, costumes and 1985 theme of the show provide for a relaxing good time.
