The War at Home
built 293 days ago
The War at Home is a self proclaimed irreverent sitcom about the modern American family. Dave and Vicky are two parents trying to raise their kids in a world that they say is very different than when they were growing up. They constantly reflect on the different liberties their parents had when raising them, namely the freedom to remain ignorant to what their kids are doing. Their goal is to “send their three kids off to college without a police record or kids of their own.” Hillary is a 16-year-old “technical virgin” who loves to push her parent’s buttons by making them suspect her of being sexually promiscuous. Larry, 15, is suspected by Dave to be a homosexual. The youngest, 13-year-old Mike is best described as mischievous and hormonal.

The NATO strikes are fanning anti-American sentiment in Russia, giving a boost to President Boris N. Yeltsin's hard-line opponents, and undermining support for arms control. That's why, as a friend of Serbia, Primakov is scrambling to act as mediator in the conflict. If he can negotiate a cease-fire, he could be acclaimed for bringing peace and restoring Russia's prestige on the international stage. And he would become the leading contender to succeed Yeltsin as President in elections set for June 2000.

The current generation of communications technology has limitations... that can make it less effective in dealing with guerilla warfare than it is for fighting larger troop formations. Because the connectivity takes place at the systems level, communications must be channeled through each organization's respective command-and-control center. In other words, when an Army commando calls for an air strike, the request goes up to that commando's officers, who relay the request to the Air Force commander, who then instructs the plane to make the requested strike. This takes time—more time than might be available during an urban firefight, where conditions are changing second by second.
