The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Tobe Hooper
built 777 days ago
One of the most horrifying films of all time, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre MOVIE has gone from 16mm independent film to full-blown horror classic. Tobe Hooper's nightmarish vision from 1974 is a grim and unsettling tale that paved the way for such indie fare as Halloween and Re-Animator
The original Tobe Hooper classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre was an exercise in mounting tension, coupled with a barbaric nihilism that has seldom been achieved in horror cinema. The remake to this classic is a fun thrill-ride of a film, but, sadly, not the movie that its predecessor is.

Leatherface, after Sally escapes, in the film's infamous final scene The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a 1974 American horror film/cult film, written, directed and produced by Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel, who had writing credits. The film features a cast of many non-professional actors, including Marilyn Burns, Gunnar Hansen, Edwin Neal and Paul A. Partain. The film, despite its label as excessively graphic, does not rely so much on explicit gore to generate terror in the audience as it does on pacing, suspense, the deserted location and dramatic tension. The film has developed a dedicated cult following.
