The Sims Superstar will give you a chance to become a movie-star, music icon, or a top fashion model, or in other words, a big shot in Studio Town. Sound great, but the question remains - how? The answer is not at all simple, but it's worth a go. At first you live the standard Sims life torn between your duties to work, friends and family, and then you turn to show-business and the path of glory. (Uhm...What? - Ed) It's LATIN, Six. Like the other expansion packs, Superstar adds a new place for your Sims to visit. In this case it’s Studio Town, which is essentially Los Angeles and New York City smooshed into the same space. Your Sims can call cabs and visit Studio Town as fans, but you should get them agents and start them on the road to stardom to get the most out of this game.

Right down to LA's busy highways, your Sims will have access to all of the Hollywood lifestyle. Several studios, both film and the music recording industry, call Studio Town their home. Add to that a spiffy spa, a sumptuous sushi bar, and a Karaoke party and your Sims are truly living the life of a star (whether they are one or not). This is where some planning comes in. With food starting at $25 and barely filling the hunger thermometer, you should fill up on food at home. Likewise, fill up on energy too, for there is no place to sleep in Studio Town. Also, empty your bladder at home, as some sites in Studio Town don't even have a bathroom.

Fledgling Sims start by signing with an agent and shuttling to Studio Town, a new destination that offers television and movie lots, recording studios and fashion facilities. Your Sims will be able to earn celebrity status by visiting Studio Town, a new area where you can choose to pursue your career in acting, music, or fashion. This is all regulated by a key new feature: the Fame Score, which ranges from "Nobody" to "Superstar."

Continuing with these popular add-ons, Maxis recently completed development of the latest add-on, The Sims: Superstar. Superstar adds an area known as Studio Town that can first be accessed by taxi, and eventually by limousine. In Studio Town the player is able to shop, eat, and built up the popularity of his/her sims in order to get them a job as a singer, model, or actor. Once the add-on is installed the player is then allowed to either get an actual job via the newspaper or internet, or take a chance and try to make a living as a celebrity. As one will quickly learn, the life of a celebrity is not as easy as it seems. Not only does this add-on feature an entire new town, but it ... features over 150 new items to choose from including a sky-diving simulator and an oxygen bar.
