4.2 out of 10 The Simpsons Road Rage is an action racing title filled with the hilarious Simpsons storyline. Players will have the ability to race recklessly threw the streets of the very abnormal Springfield town. The title is filled with all your favorite Simpsons, including Bart, Lisa and Homer. Get ready for a funny adventure that will leave you in tears!
While not a showcase title for the XBox, The Simpsons Road Rage has very functional 3D graphics. All of the Simpsons characters look true to form, as the developer's much touted Toon Renderer technology is very effective at conveying them in a convincing manner.

The Simpsons hit the streets of Springfield in The Simpsons Road Rage video game for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance. The Simpsons Road Rage for the Gameboy Advance is, well, kind of like scratchy underwear for the brain. In this updated version of Crazy Taxi, nasty Monty Burns has replaced Springfield's transit system and Homer and his peeps have to come up with a million dollars to get it back. So, the fine people of Springfield start up their own taxi service and try to get passengers to their destinations as quickly as possible. Prepare yourself.

The Simpsons Road Rage opens to a full-motion video of the Simpsons in 3D which actually looks much like the 3D rendered Homer in the Halloween Simpsons special from years ago. Sure enough, the rest of the game proves just as fancy. Developer Radical Entertainment has done an admirable job of recreating a tried-and-true 2D look for the 3D-crazed market as every character looks like their two-dimensional self and animated accordingly. The environments likewise resemble their animated counterparts -- and close Simpsons followers will even note that landmark locations are in their right spots (the music store next to Moe's, for example). Cars sway to and from in a cartoony-like manner, there are several different types of particle effects as objects break apart, water splashes up and tires burn around corners, and the framerate is generally steady, though it does drop here and there (particularly around corners). There are, on the other hand, some overly blurry textures on landscapes.

Pic Overall, The Simpsons Road Rage will be considered a huge disappointment, both to fans of the Crazy Taxi franchise and the Simpsons syndicated series. As expressed in the outset of the review, this is one of the dangers upon developing a title based upon a pre-established model. But to its credit, Road Rage is an intriguing title that's should appeal to arcade enthusiasts looking for a new addition to their library, or at the very least, recommended as the latest weekly rental.
The Simpsons Road Rage was criticized in some circles for being a rip-off of Crazy Taxi. The Simpsons Hit & Run is more blatant: An early level is named Petty Theft Homer. But come on. Any fan of the long-running Fox cartoon knows that some of its best episodes (including those on the Treehouse of Terror specials) are homages to pop culture.
