The Simpsons: Shows
built 655 days ago
The Simpson family first appeared as shorts in The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987.[2] Groening submitted only basic sketches to the animators and assumed that the figures would be cleaned-up in production. However, the animators merely re-traced his drawings, which led to the crude appearance of the characters in the initial short episodes.[1]
[T]he hype proved to be unjustified, with the Simpsons maintaining a stronghold on the quality market for the next 6 years. This massive popularity was both a blessing and a burden for the writing staff and everyone associated with the programme. Seven of the artists on the show commited suicide while the show was in production, their eyes having been adjusted so they could only see yellow. Nine others died of banana poisoning.
The Simpsons celebrated their 350th episode on May 1, 2005. It's one of the longest-running shows in TV history and it doesn't look like The Simpsons plan to slow down any time soon. Find out all you need to know about this classic comedy!
