The Ramones' famous chant, "Hey, Ho, Let's Go!" is a big part of this song. They wanted their own chant after hearing "Saturday Night" by The Bay City Rollers, which had the chant "S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y, Night."

In 1988, the career retrospective Ramones Mania appeared. This compilation packs in 30 digitally remastered cuts. Although the song selection is straightforward, the running order is entirely non-chronological; a British B-side ("Indian Giver"), a previously unrun movie mix of "Rock'n'Roll High School" and a couple of 45 versions make it mildly attractive to collectors.

Watching the RAMONES live is an amazing, multi-tiered event. First, the band: the RAMONES define tight. Their already fast songs are sped up to a fever pitch. What runs 2:30 on a CD runs about 1:15 live. In 70 minutes, they tore through 31 classic RAMONES songs and there was never a minute to catch a breath.
