Les Ramones ont influencé à leur tour d'autres groupes tels que les Clash et les Sex Pistols. Sid Vicious a dit que sa reprise de "My Way" a totalement été influencée par les Ramones. Une chanson des Ramones intitulée "Bad Brain" inspirera son nom aux Bad Brains, autre groupe fondamental du punk américain.

If you think of the Ramones as loud and stupid, you're only half right. By their 2,263rd and final concert in 1996, these punk forefathers had outsmarted and outlasted most of their detractors. After producer Phil Spector failed to puff up their punk into the Top Forty, the Ramones tried other sales pitches in the early 1980s. On Subterranean Jungle, it was the production team of Ritchie Cordell and Glen Kolotkin, who had just scored with Joan Jett.

As the punk culture grew now driven the reinterpreted English view of it The Ramones found they would never be acceptable and never have hit records and that's how it stayed. That said it was punk rock ironically that wrote their place in history.

Linda Stein is known by most as the one-time manager of the Ramones and her marriage to Warner Brothers VP Seymour Stein. After her punk rock days, she became a real-estate broker to the stars, including Calvin Klein, Billy Joel and Bruce Willis. Last night (October 30th), Linda Stein was found dead in her Manhattan apartment. She was murdered by a blow to the head with a blunt object, and police say there was no evidence of forced-entry to her home. MORE
