Departments considering a lease purchase, lease with purchase option, or an installment purchase of equipment must consider the total contract cost versus the purchase price of the same equipment. When the total cost of the contract exceeds the total cost of the purchase by more than 40 percent, the contract will be denied. The final decision to enter into this type of contract rests with the Vice President for Finance and Administration.

Hydro-Québec Distribution has done a preliminary analysis of the pricing formulas in the bids received in response to the call for tenders for the purchase of 1000 MW of wind power. The average price of bids, including the cost of transmission and power balancing, is 10¢/kWh in 2007, increasing with inflation thereafter.

Marriott closed on 12 hotels for an aggregate price of $374 million, and is currently discussing the sale of a number of these hotels with potential purchasers. Closing on the five remaining hotels and a joint venture interest, which represent $52 million of the total purchase price, has been postponed pending receipt of certain third party consents. Closing on those hotels is expected to occur before the end of the year.
