The Powerpuff Girls: Professor Utonium
built 193 days ago
The plot behind The Powerpuff Girls Movie is full of stereotypical symbolism. The blonde is bubbly and Buttercup wears green because she is often envious of the other two. The Professor wants to be a good parent, so he leaves the three girls at home alone and immediately runs to the store to buy them gifts. His next concern is for their education, so he enrolls them in Kindergarten. The girls are fine until they learn how to play Tag and tear up the town. The citizens of Townsville are so upset that they put the Professor in jail.

"The Powerpuff Girls" tells the origins of the title characters, a trio of young superheroines created by accident in the lab by Professor Utonium (the voice talent of Tom Kane). His experiment grants super-speed, super-strength and super-senses to the three girls, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup (voices of Christine Cavadini, Tara Strong and E.G. Daily, respectively).

Mojo Jojo - Before the creation of the Powerpuff Girls, Professor Utomium had a pet monkey he used to spank... after he created the girls, he started to neglect the monkey. Jojo then drank of Chemical X to become like the girls, but instead he ended up with vast intelligence, a cod-Japanese accent and an overly convoluted manner of speaking. In one of the first episodes, he and Professor Utomium made up and out and since he has been a regular visitor of the girls at Pokey Oaks. Before being shipped there, he saved Townsville's bizarro counterpart, Booyaville, from evil prohibitionists.

[E]ven when it careers out of control, "Powerpuff Girls" isn't a chore to watch. The story starts out simple and sweet: A fellow named Professor Utonium who finds himself disillusioned with the meanness and ugliness of the world throws some carefully chosen ingredients into a pot in his laboratory (sugar, spice and a dash of the mysterious chemical X) and concocts three little daughters, Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup. All three are blessed with amazing superpowers: They can soar through the air with the speed of houseflies; after putting together a PBJ Dagwood in record time, they zip the crusts off with their laser-beam eyes.

Professor Utonium (voiced by Tom Kane): The scientist who creates the Powerpuff Girls. The Professor is very "square" and old-fashioned, and he is unlucky in love (which perhaps explains why he created the girls through science; ... there was once a possible hint of him being possibly married but somehow that ended in tragedy possibly death as proof by a second pillow in the Professor's bed). His first name is never mentioned; he introduces himself as "Professor. Professor Utonium," though it is possible that Professor [I]s his first name. He is fiercely protective of the girls, sometimes to a fault. He is a very affectionate and supportive father whose pep talks often bring the girls around when they are discouraged.

When a Powerpuff Girl is moved to a space, she must deal with the tile located there (if one remains). The tiles come in three varieties -- villains, traps, and Professor Utonium.
