March of the Penguins is a beautiful film to watch. The images are expertly captured, especially considered the conditions. March of the penguins is a fascinating film for adults and children alike. Every viewer will learn a good deal form the film.

''March of the Penguins" doesn't hide the dangers of being a penguin. It shows the feeding mothers, who plow through the water like torpedoes, under a hungry leopard seal's attack. Kids might blanch at some of the more upsetting images, but ultimately the movie will delight and uplift more families than it will scare.

King penguins are closely related to the emperor penguin of March of the Penguins fame. Unlike emperors... king penguins nest on islands north of Antarctica and are not adapted to the extreme temperatures that emperors endure. They spend most of their life at sea, mainly in areas free of pack ice. They dive deeply in search of food, often reaching depths of 300 meters. Like emperor penguins, kings rear only one chick at a time, and it may take eight months or longer for the chick to fledge and become independent. As a result, a pair of king penguins will only raise one chick every other year.

In 2005, one of the biggest movie surprises and box-office hits was March of the Penguins, a full-length feature documentary like something you would see on The Discovery Channel or PBS, but extraordinary. The film was directed by Luc Jacquet. The movie is considered to be a marvelous film masterpiece that everybody can relate to regardless of culture. The film shows the penguins values such as love and companionship, but ... portrays the struggle of life and death for the penguins in the brutal climates they have become accustomed to living in.
