NEW YORK - Walter Turnbull, who founded the Boys Choir of Harlem in a church basement and led the organization to international acclaim that included performances in the White House and the Vatican, died Friday. Mellen and other officials hoped that a successful railroad would trigger development in the Bronx that would make it look like midtown Manhattan.

The Labor Department reported that only 57,000 new jobs were created last month, less than expected and far fewer of what is needed to erase job losses in the Bush recession, Edwards said. Economist have said that the economy needs to add 400,000 jobs a month over the next year to replace the three million private-sector jobs lost in the last three years, to sustain the recovery, he said.

On August 1, Barbara Walters ended speculation when she announced that Whoopi Goldberg would be replacing O'Donnell as moderator for the show's eleventh season. When asked by Joy Behar if she liked engaging in celebrity feuds, Goldberg responded by saying she has no plans to feud with any of her co-hosts. However, an article in the L.A.
