The Lost Boys is a 1987 comedic horror film from director Joel Schumacher and the winner of the 1988 Saturn Award for Best Horror Film. The film concerned the Emerson family who move to the California town of Santa Carla. Young Sam Emerson (Corey Haim) begins to suspect the town is host to several vampires and believes his elder brother, Michael (Jason Patric), is in danger of becoming one of them.

Eines vorneweg: "Lost Boys" ist ein Teeniefilm - man erwarte ... kein Oscar-nominiertes Leinwandabenteuer. Man erwarte aber auch keinen blutrünstigen Horrorfilm, denn das ist "Lost Boys" trotz der Vampir-Thematik auch nicht. Das Vampirthema ist Nebensache, es ging lediglich darum, der Rocker-Halbstarken-Truppe noch "einen draufzusetzen". Somit sind sie unwiderstechlich - gewaltbereit, durchgestylt, mit dem Motorrad Herrscher der Stadt. Geradezu wie aus einem alten Billy-Idol-Musikvideo entsprungen.
