The Federation

The Federation was founded by Choong Jae Nim Chun Sik Kim in 1984. The goal in the formation of the International Tang Soo Do Federation was to maintain the high standards of authentic tang soo do. Teaching this martial art in its original form gave much needed roots to many thousands of Tang Soo Do practitioners world-wide. To achieve this goal, Choong Jae Nim C.S. Kim has dedicated a lifetime of training to create a standardization of instruction. With unending dedication, time and patience, Choong Jae Nim Kim has insured the continued peace and harmony of Traditional Tang Soo Do.
The Federation is founded under a document known as the Charter of the United Federation of Planets, which is occasionally referred to informally as the "Constitution". It draws text and inspiration from the United Nations Charter and other sources. An important guiding principle - indeed, it is listed as General Order One in the list of Starfleet general orders - is the Prime Directive, which forbids any interference in the natural development of any pre-warp civilization. This is intended to prevent even well-intentioned Federation personnel from introducing changes which could destabilize or even destroy other warp-era cultures through interference.[7] In practice... consistent application of the Prime Directive tends to be a controversial issue, and the Federation does not always abide strictly by it, such as when it attempted to strongarm the Organians into forming an alliance with it,[8], or when it approved the forced relocation of the Ba'ku from their adopted homeworld.[9] Other aspects of the Articles provide for rule of law, equality among individuals and protection of civil and creative liberties, which appears to be based on principles found in contemporary Western political theory. It includes a set of guarantees of civil rights, the "Seventh Guarantee" being analogous to the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution and its protection against self-incrimination.

The Federation newsletter is produced four times each year. But sometimes an important issue arises, in-between publications, and the Federations Board of Directors needs to inform the membership. Snail mail is expensive and time-consuming (hence its name "snail" mail!) Electronic mail or "email" is the quickest, least expensive means of communication available.

The first phase of the International Federation and Lilly MDR-TB Programme was implemented from 2004 to 2007 in three pilot countries. "Based on the success of the current programmes in Kazakhstan, Romania and Uzbekistan, we embrace the challenge of expanding this programme to cover more than ten countries," says Sidney Taurel, chairman and CEO of Lilly.

As one of the best means to preventing heat illness, The U.S. Soccer Federation recommends parents and coaches ensure children are well hydrated before practice and games. During activity, young athletes should drink on a schedule; because thirst is not an accurate indicator of fluid needs, athletes should drink before they become thirsty. The Federation plans to incorporate the Heat Illness and Hydration Guidelines into its already existing coaches' curriculum, reaching thousands of youth soccer coaches across the country.
