1. Political Parties -- Democratic Party
   There are many possible reasons for the underdevelopment of Russia's political parties. First, there is only a very short history of democracy in Russia. Russia's democracy has a history of nine years. Russians still distrust their parties and there are still many people who do not identify with any party. Most parties in Russia are under the control of a few celebrities or manipulated by powerful industrial groups. After nine years, there has been no serious change to the parties' relations with society.
2. Serbia -- Democratic Party
   The current President of Serbia is Boris Tadić, leader of the Democratic Party (DS). He was elected with 53% of the vote in the second round of the Serbian presidential election held on 27 June 2004, following several unsuccessful elections since 2002.
3. Jewish Women -- Democratic Party
   Through its democratic, inclusive structure, the Tikkun Olam Women’s Foundation nurtures engaged, sophisticated leadership among the women who serve as its Trustees. They identify the needs and priorities impacting women and girls, and design the grantmaking program. Women who join the Foundation with a gift of $15,000 over five years become Trustees for a five-year term. Women who join with a gift of $45,000 over five years become lifetime members of the Board of Trustees. Those making a contribution of $100,000 over a five year period ($20,000 per year) will secure lifetime and transgenerational membership on the Board of Trustees that may be shared with younger women in their families, thereby maintaining a place at this important agenda-setting table for generations to come.
4. Bill Clinton -- Democratic Party
   Clinton's first splash on the national political stage occurred during the 1988 Democratic National Convention in Atlanta. He was asked to give a 15-minute introduction of the eventual nominee, Michael Dukakis, then governor of Massachusetts. Clinton turned what was supposed to be a lively 15-minute peptalk into a 32-minute drone. Turning the snafu into a joke at the 1992 convention, Clinton scored points for his self-deprecation.
5. Senator Barack Obama -- Democratic Party
   Political pros rarely agree about anything, but virtually all of them say that Barack Obama needs to come out swinging if he is to overtake Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic nomination. Obama is trailing Clinton by only two percentage points in Iowa, according to a UNIVERSITY OF IOWA poll.
6. United States Senate -- Democrat Party
   James was elected as a Democrat-Republican to the United States Senate on 1 Dec 1812 to fill a vacancy; he served until 1817. He failed in a bid for reelection. He won reelection in 1819 and served from 1819-1823, when he resigned. During his tenure, he served as Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations.
7. Taiwan -- Democratic Progressive Party
   Within Taiwan, the independence movement was one of many dissident causes among the intensifying democracy movement of the 1970s, which culminated in the 1979 Kaohsiung Incident. The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) was eventually formed to represent dissident causes.
8. British Conservative Party -- Liberal Democrats
   During the early 1990s, the politically literate began to identify the British Conservative Party as the most formidable election winning machine in the liberal democratic world. This ruthless desire for and to remain in power may have proved vindicated, in the short term, with their surprise victory in 1992, but in the medium term the ‘regina-cide’ destroyed that other most crucial component for electoral success – party discipline. Consequently, for a decade now the Conservative Party has been riven with factionalism, often seemingly more divided within itself than with any other party. Now it rests upon the current party leadership to determine the philosophy and direction of the Party for, probably, the next twenty years. Thus, it will finally have to decide its position on Europe, whether to be positive or largely negative. Choose whether it wishes to be an essentially conservative (with a small ‘c’) and somewhat authoritarian party, or one embracing a modern liberal message.
9. Hoover -- Democrats
   After Coolidge decided not to run again in 1928, Hoover was the popular choice of the party rank and file and won the Republican presidential nomination on the first ballot. In the election he defeated Democrat Alfred E. Smith by over 6 million votes, even breaking the "solid South."
10. Democratization -- Countries
    As with the definition of the term, the importance of democratization is easy to see at first glance but is much more complicated in practice. Democratization is important because of one of the most widely (but not universally) accepted trends in international relations, known as the democratic peace. Put simply, democracies do not have wars with other democracies. There were a handful of ambiguous cases in the 19th century in which democratizing countries fought other emerging democracies. But there have been no cases of an established democracy going to battle with another one since 1900. Obviously, that does not mean that democracies cannot go to war with each other.
