Texas Lawyer magazine recently cited Robin Gibbs as the No. 1 "Go-To Lawyer" for Securities Litigation. After a seven-month investigation, the magazine designated one "Go-To Lawyer" and four top-notch lawyers for each of 27 practice areas. The investigation included interviews with hundreds of lawyers across Texas who were asked "who they would turn to if they needed representation in a particular practice area." The Texas Lawyer noted that "when the stakes are high in securities litigation, whether for plaintiffs or defendants, Robin Gibbs often gets called."

AUSTIN –– Like a vast majority of inmates on Texas's death row, Calvin Jerold Burdine could not afford a lawyer for his trial. So the court paid a lawyer named Joe Frank Cannon to represent him. Today, 16 years after Burdine was convicted of murder and sentenced to die, no one disputes that Cannon did a lackadaisical job. In fact, during important stretches of testimony, he was asleep at the defense table.
The Austin Lawyer Referral Service of Central Texas, Inc. is a non-profit public service of the Austin Bar Association. Lawyer Referral refers about 12,000 callers to Travis County attorneys each year. The program was designed to assist persons who are able to pay normal attorney fees but whose ability to locate legal representation is frustrated by a lack of experience with the legal system, a lack of information about the type of services needed, or a fear of the potential costs of seeing an Austin lawyer.
