Teri Hatcher (born on December 8, 1964 in Sunnyvale, California) is an American actress. She gained attention for her role as Lois Lane in the television series Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman co-starring with Dean Cain. (In the mid-1990s, a publicity photo of Hatcher wearing Superman's cape became the most downloaded image on America Online.) Hatcher has achieved her greatest fame to date starring in the show Desperate Housewives.

With her brunette hair, beautiful brown eyes, mischievous smile, and petite but curvaceous figure, it isn't difficult to imagine why. While Hatcher could probably thrive for years as a virtual pinup, there is more to her than drop-dead gorgeous looks. The daughter of a physicist and a computer programmer, she initially studied math and engineering at a San Francisco area community college before the acting bug bit. She later enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre. At age 20, she was a cheerleader for the San Francisco 49ers.

After several small roles, she was cast in 1993 for the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. The show was a hit, and Hatcher's success on TV was matched by her success on the Internet: in the early days of the World Wide Web, Hatcher was unofficially "the most downloaded woman in the world." After Lois & Clark Hatcher moved into feature films, including the James Bond flick Tomorrow Never Dies (1997, with Pierce Brosnan as Bond) and Spy Kids (2001). In 2004 she landed a role on another hit series, the jokey, soapy drama Desperate Housewives -- playing, as her show bio put it, "a single mom searching for love amid the sometimes sordid, always intriguing goings-on of her suburban neighborhood."

Teri Hatcher was born on December 8, 1964 in Sunnyvale, California. She pursued her education at Manho Junior High (now kwown as Sunnyvale Middle School), Fremont High School and De Anza College. She began studying ballet at the San Juan Girls' Ballet Studio when she was a young girl, but eventually moved on to train in acting at the American Conservatory Theater. In 1984, she became a cheerleader for the San Francisco 49ers, and soon landed a small role as one of the mermaids on the series The Love Boat.
