Tennessee titans tickets The Tennessee Titans began in 1960 as the Houston Oilers, charter members of the American Football League. The Oilers appeared in the first three AFL championships. They scored an important victory over the NFL when they signed LSU's Heisman Trophy winner, All-America running back Billy Cannon. Cannon joined other Oiler offensive stars such as quarterback George Blanda, flanker Charlie Hennigan, running back Charlie Tolar, and guard Bob Talamini. After winning the first-ever AFL championship over the Los Angeles Chargers in 1960, they repeated over the same team (then in San Diego) in 1961. They lost to the Dallas Texans in the classic 1962 double-overtime AFL championship game, at the time the longest, and still one of the best professional football championship games ever played.

Tennessee Titans Seating Chart The Tennessee Titans play in one of the NFL’s most beautiful stadiums - LP Field (formerly The Nashville Coliseum). After 30 years of playing in Houston at the Astrodome, the team, then known as the Houston Oilers, began wanting a new football-only stadium in the mid 1990’s. After numerous attempts failed to get a stadium in Houston, the team decided to move to Nashville. There was one problem though, Nashville did not have a stadium ready for the team by the time they relocated in 1996. While a new stadium was being constructed in Nashville, the Titans played at the Liberty Bowl and Vanderbilt Stadium. Finally, on September 12, 1999, the Tennessee Titans moved onto LP Field.
