Temple Mount: Mugrabi Gate

Housed in an underground chamber of a seventh-century Umayyad palace adjacent to the actual Temple Mount site, the virtual temple's high-resolution, three-dimensional images invite visitors to imagine themselves entering the scene. They walk along ancient streets, pass beneath an enormous gateway, descend into the ritual baths and emerge to ascend a grand staircase to the majestic temple. Following this virtual trek, visitors to the center then go outdoors to view the remains of the actual temple.

The excavations were carried out in two areas: one next to the Eastern Hulda Gate (the Triple Gate) and the other near the southeast corner of the Temple Mount. The excavations were mainly continuations of those begun by the archaeological expedition directed by Benjamin Mazar and Meir Ben Dov.

It appears that Rabbi David ben Solomon ibn Abi Zimra (Radbaz) ... ascended to a portion of the Temple Mount and gave advice to others how to do this. He permits entry from all the gates and into the 135 x 135 cubits of the Women's Courtyard in the East since the Torah prohibition only applies to the 187 x 135 cubits of the Temple in the West. [16]
