Bath Water Level and Temperature Sensor The Starfish Bath Water Level & Temperature Sensor takes the guesswork out of filling the tub. This bathtub alarm allows you to walk away from a filling tub and reduces the time it takes to check the water level. This sensor is a 2-in-1 alarm system that keeps track of your bath water while you continue with other tasks. The first sensor alerts you when the desired water level has been reached to avoid overfilling your tub. The second LCD readout sensor tells you the exact temperature of the water so you can make the necessary adjustments before placing your child in the water. Sensor reads in ºC or ºF.

A Temperature Sensor/Controller is used for sensing and controlling the temperature through heating or cooling elements in a system. The information for the heating and cooling elements are transmitted over the Modbus using either RS-485 or RS-232 as it's physical layer.

temperature graph The Air Charge Temperature (ACT) sensor is a thermal transistor, which means it allows less electricity to pass through the sensor the warmer it gets. The ACT receives the “Signal Return” voltage from the EEC, and then allows a certain amount to return back to the EEC. Because the ACT is mounted into the incoming air stream it changes resistance in response to the temperature of that air.
figure The physical placement of a sensor is critical to ensure that you're measuring the temperature you think you are measuring. The curve in Figure 5 shows the performance of the 2N3904/MMBT3904 transistor mounted in various ways to measure air temperature. The board-mounted throughhole 2N3904 (T1) does not actually measure the air temperature even though the package was mounted off the board, as far away as the leads would allow, because the leads have a very good thermal conductive path to the sensor. This is good if you want to measure the board temperature but bad if you're trying to measure the ambient air temperature. Better alternatives are shown with the transistors marked T2 and T3. T2 is placed on a PCB off the main board.

The hardest part of testing your sensor is figuring out the ambient temperature. The engine takes a long time to cool down after shutdown so if you take a reading after 3 hours it won't be at the ambient temperature. Touching it with your figures will raise the temperature .... The best technique is to remove it from the engine, take it indoors, wait 4 hours then check the air temperature with a thermometeruntil you get a reading near 68F.
