Telus Field is a unique baseball stadium in that the infield was originally AstroTurf (which was recently replaced with FieldTurf), but the outfield is natural grass; this was done for 4 reasons. First, the turf was cheaper, and an artificial surface would drain water easily whenever it rained. Third, the Trappers' Major League parent at the time, the Minnesota Twins, wished to have their prospects play on an artificial surface. And forth there were a number of concerts being played at the stadium.

By late spring 1999, the TELUS team had what it thought was a version that responded well to the issues raised by the focus group. A beta-test group was created and met in the fall of 1999, after completing 3 months of testing. The beta testers dug into the details of the features, such as changing existing field names and adding new fields to better meet their needs and preferences. In many cases, the beta testers themselves did not agree on the suggested changes. For instance, although the database needs to include the length of projects, the preferences for how that length should be expressed differed significantly (e.g., miles, mileposts, from/to intersections).

Opened in 1995, Telus Field replaced the 60 year-old John Ducey Park (formerly Renfrew Park) on the same site. It has 12 foot walls all the way around except in center field, where the batters eye a 34-foot green monster which is the third highest wall in professional baseball; no one has ever hit a home run over it. Telus Field is a well-regarded ballpark in North America, and had the highest ratings for best ballpark for 8 years staight by Triple A Best Ballparks.

Since the lockout, there have been numerous reports of poor customer service at Telus. Phone lines have been disconnected, then not reconnected for days. In some cases, charges remain on the bill. Although in many cases, service over the telephone has been prompt, people have complained of being helped by managers or others who are fielding calls in areas for which they aren't adequately trained.

The customization module enables the user to tailor TELUS to the agency's unique needs and preferences. For instance, TELUS field names can be given an "alias" that will be reflected in all other modules and features. In addition, the user agency can create lists of all the localities in its jurisdiction, various districts (e.g., congressional, legislative) in its area, and, for interstate MPOs, the two or more States involved.
