Once Telemundo 52 is transmitting in High Definition, viewers can expect to see greater detail and a superior picture quality, as HD offers twice the standard number of scanning lines per frame. In fact, HDTV offers the highest resolution and sharpest picture, with tremendous clarity, richer and more natural colors, as well as surround sound, supported by the Dolby Digital format.

In June, Telemundo closed on its $239 million purchase of KWHY-Canal 22. It joins Telemundo’s KVEA-Canal 52. Telemundo is in the process of expanding KVEA’s Glendale home and will move the two channels under one roof.

Will the Telemundo-led "Vota Por Tu Futura" project be careful to register only U.S. citizens? That is a major concern, since Telemundo played a major role in mobilizing and publicizing the 2006 demonstrations (many of which were blatantly anti-American) and its partners are all well-known for favoring open borders.

"The Telemundo version of Zorro was different than the traditional story," Wills says. "Since all novelas have love angles, and Zorro is an action story, not a love story, the writers had to revise it to add some love story arcs that would blend in. We did it so well that Sony Pictures (one of three rightsholders to Zorro) is asking us to do a sequel."
