Teen Titans has never been established explicitly to be a part of the larger DC Animated Universe or The Batman, a source of fan controversy. Indicating separation from the DC Animated Universe, series producer Bruce Timm stated the series would not cross over with Justice League Unlimited. There was a reference to the Teen Titans in one of the later episodes of Static Shock where Batman guest starred. The main character Virgil Hawkins asked Batman where Robin was, Batman answered " He's with the Titans." When Virgil asked who they were Batman replied " You'll meet them someday " In addition, Speedy, who first appeared in Teen Titans as a member of the tournament of heroes episode along with Aqualad and others, appeared alongside his mentor, Green Arrow, in Justice League Unlimited. Perhaps most notably, Kid Flash was voiced by Michael Rosenbaum in his appearances in the show - the same actor who voiced the Flash in Justice League Unlimited.

In this handheld translation of the popular animated superhero series, the Teen Titans may face off against their most challenging opponents yet -- themselves. Brother Blood has plans to make clones of Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy, and use them to take over the world. It will take the whole team to stop the villain's devious scheme, so players can switch between the five Titans on the fly -- each young hero with his or her own special moves -- as they fight their way through each side-scrolling level. If the thought of Teen Titan doppelgangers is not enough of a threat, familiar villains such as Slade, Overload, Jinx, Gizmo, and Mammoth ... take their turns at trying to put a stop to the heroes along the way. ~ T.J. The original Teen Titans (with Speedy but without Robin) was animated as part of the The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure in 1967. A recent Teen Titans (animated series) (2003-2006), based on the 1980s version of the comic book, has proved to be quite successful, lasting five seasons on Cartoon Network. The series included Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy and featured Deathstroke as a recurring villain.
