Teairra Mari is only 17, yet fully aware of who she is and what she's capable of doing. The native from Detroit caught everyone's attention with her sex appeal, and aggressive lyrics. The Detroit princess began her career at the age of 12, recording in her cousin's basement. At 13, she caught the attention of Big Mike, Ed K, and Helluvah of Detroit's KISS Production. Later on they felt that she had potential to go big, and she was introduced to Def Jam Group. Teairra Mari worked with Jay-Z, on the hit single "Make Her Feel Good" from her new album "Princess of the Roc" "Princess of the Roc" has no features, where usually females with her type of music will have features like Jay-z, Ludacris, Sean Paul, etc.
Teairra Mari completed her second album to be released and has stated she was in the studio working with producers such as Timbaland, Danja, Bryan Michael Cox, Scott Storch, Polow Da Don, The Clutch, Tim & Bob, Kanye West, Solange and others. Her first single, which hasn't been decided, has a confirmation date to be released this winter or spring by her management and record label, she is now ready to take the spotlight back. Teairra ... finished wrapping up her first film called Doorman in which she costars with Jackie Long, although the release date for the movie has yet to be confirmed due to post production.
Roc-A-Fella's remedy came in a very unlikely form: a 17-year-old girl from around the way named Teairra Mari. Her timing couldn't be better, as she arrived in the aftermath of the Lil Jon-dubbed "Queen of Crunk," Ciara. To be sure, Mari is slightly indebted to Ciara: they're both young and attractive, both are R&B gals with a firm foundation in the hip-hop world, both are unafraid of talking smack and otherwise teasing the fellas, and if that isn't enough, their names - spelled nothing like how they are pronounced - rhyme.
