The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (often shortened as the Bucs) are a professional American football team based in Tampa, Florida. They are currently members of the Southern Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The team, along with the Seattle Seahawks, joined the NFL as 1976 expansion teams in the AFC West. The club is currently owned by Malcolm Glazer and coached by head coach Jon Gruden. When the franchise entered the league in 1976, the Buccaneers lost their first 26 games. After a brief winning era in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the team suffered through fourteen consecutive losing seasons.
Since that 2002 championship, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won zero playoff games. Gruden has delivered only one winning season in the four years since 2002. His overall record is 27-37 during that same stretch. Needless to say, the clock is ticking for the man with the perpetual scowl. If 2007 looks anything like 2006, Gruden’s days in Tampa are done. Mr. Expletive needs a winning campaign this year to keep his post.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a great season last year going 11-6. The Bucs rely on their shutdown defense to win ballgames. Their banner year came in 2002 when they won 15 games. Unfortunately, they followed up that great year with two disappointing seasons. The Buccaneers are hoping 2006 will break that trend.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tickets The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 1999 season was ... productive, with the team obtaining first position in the NFC Central. The Buccaneers won the Divisional Playoffs against the Redskins with 14-13. The 2002 season, however, was considered as the best season for the team of Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers reached the Super Bowl and even achieved the Super Bowl title for the first time in franchise history. The team proved that they are a strong team in spite of hardships during the first few seasons in NFL. With a record of 12-4, the team defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Playoff by 31-6.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went from worst to first in the NFC South, thanks to a better quarterback, a better pass rush and a lot of crappy opponents in their division. That earned Jon Gruden and Bruce Allen a contract extension. Winning this division... didn't translate into winning in the playoffs. Spending nearly all of the last offseason improving the defense helped. Now it's time for Allen and Gruden to start boosting the offense.
