Talk Shows: Guests
built 654 days ago
Remember the astronomical number of talk shows mentioned in Week One? They are all looking for interesting guests. The territory is wide open for getting into the public eye. All you’ll need is a bit of self-confidence, determination and perseverance, and some knowledge of what the producers of talk shows are looking for.

Clinton, who polls have found enjoys significant support from Democratic-leaning female voters, has been a frequent guest on daytime talk shows that have large female audiences. And it was announced today that she will be on hand for the season premiere of the syndicated "Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Sept. 4.
How can you get on a talk show? What kind of guest are the producers looking for? Producers want a decisive guest. They want someone who can handle the fast pace of the show itself and someone who doesn't balk at jumping on a plane in a few hours. "They don't want to smell fear at all," says Prokop. "If you say, `That's so soon,' you're out.
On Sept. 26, The Tomorrow Show: Tom Snyder's Electric Kool-Aid Talk Show ($15, Shout! Factory), comes out in a two-DVD set featuring such counterculture guests as Timothy Leary, Ken Kesey, Tom Wolfe and the Grateful Dead.
