These Symbols are an insight into the collective unconscious. They describe universal and archetypal patterns. The Symbols are impersonal but still resonate with emotion for the reader. Each Symbol is like a dream or a riddle, to be analyzed and meditated upon and seen from many perspectives in order to be understood.
Symbols are like constants whose name is their value. Just like the number 5 has both the name 5 and the value 5 so the symbol :howdy is the word howdy. It’s just like “howdy” but Betterâ„¢

Symbols used within paintings include concentric circles, curved lines & straight lines. Concentric circles usually represent camp sites, waterholes or places of significance. Curved lines generally represent rain or water travelling underground. Straight lines may be indicative of travelling & when these lines join concentric circles it may show the pathway travelled by the ancestors. A small "U" shaped figure may represent a person & depending on the iconoraphy next to the person determines whether it is male or female.
state ship Symbols are often adopted after a concerted effort by citizens to have a significant item recognized for its importance to the state. To that end, citizens, organizations or school children often research a particular symbol and make a request for a bill. They track the bill through the Legislative process (see "How a Bill Becomes a Law"), often providing further information about their request to the Legislature.

Avatar [T]o be even more detailed: The content of Symbols is restricted over that of Strings. Symbols can never contain \0 and Ruby tries to keep you from using empty symbols. (Though the latter is still possible.)

WDK Documentation Private symbols files have all information in them for the debugger to resolve data (local variables, structure type information, functions, source file name/line info, etc). Public symbols files are essentially stripped versions of private symbols that usually just contain the function information so that stack traces work. Sometimes limited type information is included so that debugger extensions can work.
