The Swingers are one of the great "one-hit-wonder" (or in this case, two-hit wonder) bands of the early eighties. Formed in New Zealand in 1979 by Phil Judd (formerly of Split Enz), Dwayne "Bones" Hillman (currently in Midnight Oil) and Buster Stiggs, their song "One Good Reason" made the Top Twenty in NZ. Developing a sizeable Antipodean following, they hit their peak in 1981 with their number-one hit "Counting The Beat". They disbanded in 1982, after an album, several singles and some personnel changes.

Swingers Original Soundtrack cover Swingers is a film released in 1996 about the lives of single, unemployed actors living on the 'eastside' of Hollywood, California during the 1990's swing revival. Written by Jon Favreau and directed by Doug Liman, the movie starred Favreau and Vince Vaughn, and ... featured performances by Ron Livingston and Heather Graham.
Swingers have a mind of their own and in this lifestyle, you know they are the ones to trust. If you swing or become a swinger, you have to be honest and respectful. Swingers love to have fun, that's for sure.

Swingers For better or for worse, Swingers has become an L.A. institution. Andy Warhol-inspired wallpaper (cows, not cans), tartan-plaid booths and waitresses in fishnets epitomize L.A.'s retro diner scene where vintage-clothed screenwriters hang. The elaborately illustrated menu includes grilled cheese stuffed with sharp cheddar and avocado, milk shakes enriched with fruit juice, and salads topped with ahi tuna.
Swingers differentiate between fun and friendship, and the love and companionship provided by their existing relationship. Thus, though swingers may have many sexual relationships, only a single emotional relationship exists. Although many close friendships are formed within the swinging community, swingers often feel that nothing is more important to them than their relationship with their own partner. The intimate friendships formed among swingers strengthen the primary relationship, rather than damage it.
Swingers Swingers is just about the coolest film on the planet. It's so laid back it's horizontal. There aren't enough words in a thesaurus to describe how good this movie is! Watch and enjoy. The direction from Doug Liman is awesome and the acting matches. It's funny but not in your face, it's hip but doesn't care and it just makes for a great picture.
