pleshette For a boy barely into his teens, the discovery of Suzanne Pleshette in “The Geisha Boy” was quite wonderful, and meeting her many years later in Los Angeles was to have your best instincts confirmed. Pleshette in person was the uncensored version of the classy dame who appeared on the Johnny Carson show with a lascivious mind as scattered as her imagination and a wit as sharp as her shining eyes.
Pleshette died early in the evening of January 19, 2008 of respiratory failure at her Los Angeles home. She was 70 years old. She had been scheduled to receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 31 2008, which would have been her 71st birthday. As there are no surviving immediate relatives, it is not clear who will attend on her behalf.[11]

Pleshette has battled lung cancer for the better part of a decade and underwent chemotherapy in 2006. A family friend, entertainment attorney Robert Finkelstein, told the Associated Press that the actress died as of respiratory failure Saturday evening at her Los Angeles home.
