1. Survivor
   Told more-or-less forward but counting back down to the opening moment (including reverse page numbering), Survivor is relatively complex and very engaging. Palahniuk engages in some low-key yet profound worldbuilding that is more characteristic of Jonathan Lethem than of Palahniuk's usual style. Palahniuk sometimes has trouble with the balance between depicting his protagonist's brutal (and brutalizing) inner narration and evoking empathy for the protagonist and his or her plight. Not so here--the protagonist is both troubling and attractive. Palahniuk might do well to aim for this blend and not, as his more recent books would lead one to believe, for the most outrageous and disgusting extremes of human behavior and experience.
2. Survivor: Guatemala -- Tribes
   The winners of the Reward Challenge receive a crocodile-proof pool, on SURVIVOR: GUATEMALA -- THE MAYA EMPIRE, Thursday, Oct. 13 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. When host Jeff Probst tells the castaways that the winning team will have a crocodile-proof swimming pool delivered to their camp (along with chips, dip and margaritas), such an incentive inspires one castaway to blaze through the competition. The pounding rain takes its toll on the tribes and causes one castaway to voice their frustration and demand that people "Step Up!" One self-absorbed castaway annoys tribe members with endless stories of a glamorous life. And, the fifth member is voted out of the tribe.
3. Jenna Lewis -- Survivor All-Stars
   Since finishing eighth on SURVIVOR: BORNEO, Jenna Lewis has made numerous television appearances, including hosting VH1's "Rock Across America" and appearing in a recurring role in "Nash Bridges" on CBS. She has ... made various appearances for charities and non-profit organizations.
4. Martin Lawrence -- Acting
   Martin Lawrence was born in Frankfurt, Germany, where his father, John Lawrence, served in the US military. When Lawrence was six, his father left. His mother relocated the family to the projects in Landover, Maryland; when he was eight years old. After his father and mother split, he rarely saw his father. His mother, Chlora, worked two jobs to try to support her family. She oftened worked as a cashier at various department stores to support Martin and his five siblings.
5. Christina Applegate
   TURNS out Christina Applegate wasn't the only one in her marriage with a wandering eye. Applegate's soon to be ex, Jonathan Schaech (above), arrived at the opening of the new Las Vegas club Seamless After Hours on Saturday with his best friends Shannon Elizabeth and pro poker player Antonio Esfandiari, but quickly met his secret new girlfriend inside, sources say. Schaech and the petite blonde, named Maria, made out all night in the VIP section. Meanwhile, another bad boy, Mario Lopez, who cheated on his wife Ali Landry on their honeymoon, showed up with his latest squeeze, "Survivor" winner Danni Boatright.
6. Ashley Massaro -- World Wrestling Entertainment
   Ashley Massaro (born May 26, 1979 in Babylon, Long Island, New York), better known as just Ashley is a model and professional wrestler currently working for World Wrestling Entertainment's on its SmackDown! brand. Ashley Massaro is the winner of the 2005 RAW Diva Search.
7. Bishop -- Bishop Jakes

   The National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH) is a project of the Texas Council on Family Violence in Austin, Texas. NDVH provides empowerment-based crisis intervention, information and referral to victims of domestic violence and their friends and families. The Hotline serves as the only center in the nation with access to more than 5,200 sources of help including 2,000 battered women's shelters in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. NDVH and ndvh.org operates 24 hours each day, 365 days every year, in over 150 different languages, with a TTY line available for the Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing. All calls to NDVH are anonymous.

Grammy Award Winner Richard Kaufman, Principal Pops Conductor of the Pacific Symphony and the Dallas Symphony, will conduct the symphony in an eclectic array of music as the East and West All-Star players are introduced.
