Team Survivor is a non-profit organization that provides free exercise, health education, and support programs for all women affected by cancer. These programs are open to women of all ages and fitness levels and in all stages of cancer treatment and recovery.

For the second year, Jeff Probst, host and producer of the Emmy(TM) Award- winning CBS-TV series Survivor, will serve as spokesperson for the campaign. "It couldn't be easier to have a positive impact on children who are fighting cancer," said Probst during a visit to the hospital.

Citing shortfalls in the care currently provided to the country's 10 million cancer survivors, From Cancer Patient to Cancer Survivor: Lost in Transition recommends that each cancer patient receive a "survivorship care plan." Such plans should summarize information critical to the individual's long-term care, such as the cancer diagnosis, treatment, and potential consequences; the timing and content of follow-up visits; tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and preventing recurrent or new cancers; legal rights affecting employment and insurance; and the availability of psychological and support services.

The AACR Scientist↔Survivor Program is designed to build enduring partnerships among the leaders of the scientific and cancer survivor and patient advocacy communities worldwide. The program exposes advocates to special lay-language lectures, small group discussions and other interactions that provide a solid background in cancer research.
