Surface roughness is the measure if the finer surface irregularities in the surface texture. These are the result of the manufacturing process employed to create the surface. Surface roughness Ra is rated as the arithmetic average deviation of the surface valleys and peaks expressed in microinches or micrometers. ISO standards use the term CLA (Center Line Average). Both are interpreted identical.

Returns True if the Surface is required to be locked to access pixel data. Usually pure software Surfaces do not require locking. This method is rarely needed, since it is safe and quickest to just lock all Surfaces as needed.

Surface water and groundwater supplies in Kentucky are susceptible to pollution from both natural and manmade sources. Naturally occurring substances such as iron, manganese, barium, fluroide, hydrogen, sulfide and salt may be present at undesirable levels. Bacteria from sewage, septic tanks and animal waste are a common problem. High nitrate-nitrogen levels contaminate water supplies in some areas.

The first two arguments to Surface.blit() seem to be reversed. To draw Surface "source" onto Surface "dest" the correct call is: pygame.Surface.blit(dest, source, position) or dest.blit(source, position) Example: screen = pygame.display.set_mode((100,100)) screen.fill((255,255,255)) # white background red_block = pygame.Surface((50,50)) red_block.fill((255,0,0)) # draw red block onto white background screen.blit(red_block, (25,25)) pygame.display.update()

"To achieve efficacy in cardiovascular disease, your compound has to get into the right tissues," commented Dr. Paul Sweetnam, Chief Scientific Officer at Surface Logix. "By leveraging our deep understanding of how small molecules interact with a variety of lipids and proteins, we succeeded in creating a drug candidate that is able to access PDE5 in cardiovascular tissue in a physiologically meaningful way. These Phase 2a clinical results of SLx-2101 demonstrate the translation of this property into therapeutic activity in hypertensive patients, a first for a PDE5 inhibitor."

Surface water and groundwater are present throughout Kentucky's 40,598 square miles. Surface water occurs as rivers, streams, ponds, lakes and wetlands. Groundwater occurs in the pore spaces within rocks and alluvium in fractures and in conduits in areas underlain by soluble carbonate rocks, such as limestone and dolomite. This geological feature is referred to as "karst."
