Superstition Foothills features a community recreation center that houses a community pool and fitness center. The guard-gated community features lush desert landscape with a trail system that leads to miles of hiking, biking and sightseeing for Superstition residents. Superstitions that belong to the cultural tradition (in some cases inseparable from religious superstition) are enormous in their variety. Many persons, in nearly all times, have held, seriously or half-seriously, irrational beliefs concerning methods of warding off ill or bringing good, foretelling the future, and healing or preventing sickness or accident. A few specific folk traditions, such as belief in the evil eye or in the efficacy of amulets, have been found in most periods of history and in most parts of the world. Others may be limited to one country, region, or village, to one family, or to one social or vocational group.

"Superstition" is immediately recognizable for its opening drum beat, which was performed by Stevie, and for its notably funky clavinet riff. The song ... heavily features brass instruments and saxophones, notably a trumpet lead by Trevor Laurence, and the electronic Arp and Moog synthesizer sounds that Malcolm Cecil and Robert Margouleff helped to create for the album.

The experiment might be said to demonstrate a sort of superstition. The bird behaves as if there were a causal relation between its behavior and the presentation of food, although such a relation is lacking. There are many analogies in human behavior. Rituals for changing one's luck at cards are good examples. A few accidental connections between a ritual and favorable consequences suffice to set up and maintain the behavior in spite of many unreinforced instances. The bowler who has released a ball down the alley but continues to behave as if he were controlling it by twisting and turning his arm and shoulder is another case in point.

However it would not be difficult to demonstrate the source of most religious and even most political views are derived, not by any clear process of reason, but a mixture of totally irrational influences, impressions, feelings, traditions, social influences, or "a sense" of duty, honor, pride, and patriotism. None of these things may be bad, evil, or in any way immoral, but they are not "rational;" they are not part of the rational process, but, on the contrary, things about which the most ruthless application of reason must be applied to understand and correctly integrate into ones field of knowledge.
