Star Wars: Legacy is a comic series set in the Star Wars fictional universe from 130 ABY to an unspecified time. The series is being written by Dark Horse Comics editors John Ostrander, Jan Duursema, Dan Parsons and Brad Anderson. The first comic will be released 7 June 2006 for 25 cents U.S.

The titular Star Wars originally referred to the Galactic Civil War which takes place in the Original Trilogy. However, when considering the prequels and the Expanded Universe, these events are only a portion to the millennia-spanning war between the Sith and the Jedi/Galactic Republic.

Battles will rage across six different planets in the Star Wars universe, such as Geonosis, Rhen Var, Raxus Prime, and Kashyyyk Moon -- the home of the wookies! Each is decorated with a landscape of sprawling hills and valleys mixed with the wreckage and debris of war-torn military outposts. Players will start in a chosen vehicle and will proceed to blast away at the nearest threats and mission objectives, oftentimes while trying to balance other mission objectives such as keeping a wingman alive, protecting a convoy, or airlifting a batch of prisoners. The action is intense, as enemies swarm from all sides, relentlessly pounding away at you with their lasers, missiles, and various forms of deadly energy beams.

Combine elements of Age of Empires and Starcraft with the Star Wars universe and you have yourself an insanely addictive game. Play as the Rebels or the Empire and skirmish in space or on land. It’s a little repetitive at times maybe, as most RTS games are, but that doesn’t take away from the great Star Wars experience that this is.
