Apart from Mario himself, the mushrooms from the Super Mario Brothers series are among the most iconic representations of the game. The first SMB was the best-selling game in history, and anyone who grew up in the 80s is likely to have played it in their childhood.

According to GoNintendo, the Super Mario Brothers will be returning to the US on May 7, 2006. That's just before E3 for you non-industry folks. This will be the Brother's first new side scrolling adventure in over a decade. Cannot wait!

The first ever platform adventure for the Mario Brothers has you exploring level after level, with Bowser to contend with as the end of level boss. Power-ups include the Super Mushroom, which increases your size and power, the fire flower, allowing you to shoot fireballs at enemies, and the ever important starman for a short burst of invincibility.

Fire Flower - Once your Super Mario, you will be able to find a Fire Flower in some blocks. Once you do find one, you will be able to shoot fire balls from your hand.
