Sugar Gliders: Scent Glands
built 606 days ago
[A]s previously noted, male sugar gliders have more scent glands than the females, and unneutered males sometimes give off a little burst of musky scent. Other sugar glider aficionados have definite preferences for males or females. For example, some breeders say that males are more quick to bond and less likely to be moody or cranky. Others say that females bond more strongly.
Sugar gliders have many scent glands used for marking. The main scent glands are the frontal (found on the forehead), the sternal (found on the chest), and the paracloacal (found alongside the cloaca). Scent glands are ... located on the surfaces of the paws, corners of the mouth, and inside surfaces of the external ears.

They have two claws for each of their ten two-fifths of a paw. At the tip of each claw is a scent gland, which will release pheremones to instantly attract the opposite sex, if the sugar glider happens to feel particularlly horny.
