It is not good for Sudan and her peoples. It may be good for the powerful in their struggle for power. But their battles are not concerned with the good of the people or of believers. This has gone on for forty years now. Khartoum's political battles are not for the people they are for power. And then, Turabi still has great influence and can move his followers as before.
The United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) officially took over from the African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS) on December 31, 2007. The UNAMID force has 9,000 troops deployed out of the mandated 26,000 and lacks adequate equipment such as helicopters. However, despite these setbacks talks resumed this week between the Sudanese Armed Force and UNAMID officials to discuss greater access to refugee camps and increased protection of the internally displaced. "Though we mourn the killing of the American diplomat this morning, sadly it is not an incident for Sudan. Khartoum is playing a cat and mouse game. Hundreds of Sudanese are gathering at the Iowa press conference today because Sudan is still a terrorist regime which has spilled the blood of millions by perpetrating genocide, slavery, systematic starvation and mass human rights abuses. American Sudanese demand to know what the candidates intend to do about it."
Free Trial! KSF seeks to track, before the fees and expenses, an equity index called the KLD Large Cap Sudan Free Social(SM) Index (KLD Index). The KLD Index is based on the KLD Large Cap Social(SM) Index (LCSI), which is comprised of a subset of stocks in the Russell 1000(R) Index with market capitalizations generally greater than $1 billion and that meet KLD Research & Analytics' screens for environmental, social and governance factors. All LCSI holdings with certain types of business involvement in Sudan are removed from the KLD Index.

After convicting eight terrorists and sentencing them to life, Sudan commuted their sentences; some Black September members got away.
